Remember you do not have to be an IPMS member to compete. You cannot enter a model

that has won 1,2, 3rd or best of in a IPMS sponsored REGIONAL or NATIONAL contest except in

group build, collections or display only.

Here is a show briefing:

Hello all. Looks like things are shaping up for the June 5th & 6th regional show and contest.

There are a few bulletin items that have been set for the show and they are as follows:

 

1. We have secured 6 vendors for the show each taking about 5 tables. The first is Tank Rat,

a supplier of armor model detail parts and boy is he going to bring lots. The other is the

Tool Man, yes the same guys who attend the nationals and most train shows and he will be

bringing lots of specialty tools and scenery supplies cheap!  Historica books and Hobbies,

Wolf Designs tools,  Wings and Treads and a few private tables so bring your spending cash.

2. We should be having a military vehicle collectors group showing up with some 1 to 1

scale beauties.

3. Pre-registration discounts have ended so it is $20.00 unlimited models, $14.00 if you

are a IPMS National member.

4. There will be a Friday night social from 6:00pm on at the Airplane Restaurant next to t

he hotel (the one with the KC-97 stuck to it

5.  We have a few large group builds from different IPMS and other modeling groups.

6. All sponsorship categories have been sold out.

7. Non-competing visitors can get in free.

8. There will be many representatives for IPMS groups from around the country at the show.

9. The final schedule is on the web site. www.centennialipms.org

10. The banquet is almost sold out.

 

11. The layout for the show floor has been finalized.

12. Rules for the show:

NO running

NO food or drink in the model room

NO touching of the models unless they are yours (judges excluded)

NO sweeps

NO crying if you don’t win an award (the show is the real award)

YES you can be free to photograph

YES you can store your boxes in the model room

 YES you will have help to place your models in categories

All other rules and judging are based on IPMS National criteria.

Winners of past regional and national IPMS contests cannot compete but can

Be placed on the display only table.

13. Lots of folks are heading in from out of state so welcome in advance.

There are a few items of importance:

 

The show and contest is open to the public and you do not have to be an IPMS member.

If you have a large model or diorama, over 4’ please let us know in advance so we can make room.

All tourist attractions are to be self guided and transportation is the persons responsibility.

Tour problems. The only tour left is the Pueblo Air Museum, you must provide your

own transportation to the museum but we will have a guided tour waiting for you (time to be announced)

PPMX 3 show briefing

March 22nd 2009

Hello all. Looks like things are shaping up for the June 5th & 6th

regional show and contest.

There are a few bulletin items that have been set for the

1. We have secured 2 vendors for the show each taking 5 tables. The first is Tank Rat, a supplier

of armor model detail parts and boy is he going to bring lots. The other is the Tool Man, yes the

same guys who attend the nationals and most train shows and he will be bringing lots of

specialty tools and scenery supplies cheap!  

2. We should be having a military vehicle collectors group showing up with some 1 to 1

scale beauties.

3. Dave Wellen has made a very nice show poster for all the hobby shops to display.

4. We might be having the Colorado Springs Ferrari and Lamborghini clubs show with

some nice real size vehicles as well as the Corvette club.

5.  Rob has been working on a power point show of the winning models during the awards

ceremony as well as helping print the flyers.

6. Tom has been rolling in the sponsorships!   All of the best of sponsorships are sold out

as are most the special awards. Lots of regular categories left.

7. Ken has been securing shirts for the staff at the show.

8. Matt has been coordinating the vehicle guys as well as doing some of the advertising

on the various web sites and has got the show listed in Fine Scale Modeler.

9. Standard categories awards are ready to go all 161 of them as well as the best of’s.

10. We have had a few pre registrations and I hope this number will rise as the show

gets closer.
