Well we drove we ate and we went broke!
The Centennial sponsored field trip to Denver was a success!
We had 6 who could make it and we first hit Colpar Hobbies where most of
us left with a goodie bag and one of us left with a 6' long WWI 1/1 scale propeller!
We then went on a quest to find the mythical Denver Sherman tank and found it!
It was in pristine condition but unfortunately on of our group failed to get out of its way.

Sherman mini walk around:

Sherman with nuts on top:

Time to enjoy the MRE's:

Group photo:

We toped the day off with a stop at Aberdeen book store for some not so light reading.
Thanks to those who went and I am looking forward to the Peterson field trip!

Okay hate me if you will, but you won't be seeing this one at a meeting as it is going to its new owner hopefully on the 22nd. Her brother was the flight engineer for this plane. She never knew what happened to him in the war, only that he didn't make it home. (Plane was lostover the Baltic 9 April 44) WOR did some research, found him and his plane, sent me the info and I got to do the build. Made my own nose art, which didn't come out too bad for a first try along with the other markings. The sister who is 82 now, has never seen this before, so I am pretty excited about delivering it to her. They actually wanted to pay me for this.....couldn't do it. Just knowing I gave her some bit of closure is payment enough. I'm making a base for it this week. Without further ado, here's Lonesome Polecat.
Matt~
